Limestone is a sedimentary rock, whose main component is calcite (calcium carbonate). Limestone can be colorless hue and, depending on the dopants distinguish varieties of yellow, pink, red, greenish or gray. Due to the size of grains of calcareous limestone distinguish fine and coarse.
The limestones are the most common rocks in the world. In Poland, there are, among others: the Holy Cross Mountains, Tatras, Pieniny and the Sudeten Mountains. Limestones are used as building stone and material decorator (window sills, stairs, flooring, cladding).
